Empowered to Teach

Teacher training is an extremely effective tool to make better teachers and help them grow. However, there is a need for practical teacher training which is in touch with the reality that teachers face each day.

INSPIRE has launched Empowered to Teach - a teacher training course that is designed, developed and imparted by educators.
Their own struggles at keeping their students engaged and focused; joys at trying innovative techniques to teach particularly difficult topics; successes at building happy learners led them to think of how they could use their experience to help other teachers.

The training has been built around two prominent questions from teachers:

  • What to do differently?

  • How to do it differently?

The designers of the program understand the potential as well as limitations of the function.

The program is based on the assumption that learners of today are the professionals of tomorrow. Teachers therefore need to hone skills in learners that prepare them for their future responsibilities.

The program is meant for preschool and primary school teachers and intends to:

  • Help teachers understand and transact the curriculum in class.

  • Build teachers' skills in areas related to planning, delivery and assessment of the curriculum.

This distinct program is made of collaborative workshops where participants experience simulations of real-life classroom scenarios.

It provides opportunities to participants to create their own learning path by finding solutions to a varied set of challenges.

It is built keeping in mind the possibilities and challenges that a teacher faces in a typical classroom.
